Douala Airport Douala International Airport is the largest airport in Cameroon. Its international code (IATA code) is DLA. Its ICAO code is FKKD.

Located in the administrative province of the Littoral, it serves the economic capital of Cameroon thanks to its infrastructure in constant modernization and to one of the most important airport areas of Africa (6,20km² for a total perimeter of about 19km).

Its terminal is located at the edge of the mangrove areas south of the central districts of Douala. The airport area is made up of terminals (passengers, cargo), the military zone of the Cameroonian Air Force, the ASECNA Regional Fire Safety School (ERSI), the 2853-meter length runway, the aeroclub and technical areas.

Its domestic and international traffic is constantly growing and, thanks to its capacity of a million and a half passengers and 50,000 tons of freight per year, it benefits from a head start on this increase in air traffic .

Nevertheless, projects are regularly launched to modernize infrastructure and ensure the compliance of Douala airport with international standards of safety and comfort. Thus in 2016 the parking areas and tracks have been completely renovated.

Douala International Airport has twelve aircraft parking spaces. The passenger terminal with a capacity of 1.5 million passengers per year has 20 check-in desks, 6 boarding / disembarking gates each equipped with a telescopic bridge. The cargo terminal equipped to handle up to 50,000 tons of cargo handled in 2016 nearly 28,000 tons.
