A welcome stand is available in the main hall of the airport. The reception staff can inform the travelers and accompanying persons on their flight, on the accommodations and tourist places of Douala as well as on the formalities to be carried out. Do not hesitate to call on them.

ATMs and money exchange

Holders of international credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) or cards issued by some Cameroonian banks have the possibility of withdrawing money from ATMs at the airport. These ATMs distribute banknotes in CFA Francs (XAF). The main hall has an ATM of the bank Société Générale. Currency exchange can be done in the main airport hall at currency exchange offices open at any time.

Internet

Cameroon has several 4G operators selling SIM cards without subscription and 4G USB keys for cheap and fast internet access on your PC, tablet or phone. These SIM cards are available and can be activated upon your arrival at Douala airport as well as anywhere in the city. The terminal also has wifi access in the VIP lounge.

Stores and duty free shop

Several shops are available within the airport both in the international duty free zone and in the main departure and arrival hall. Books, international press, souvenirs, handicrafts, ready-to-wear, postcards and stamps, telephony and electronics, perfume, alcohol and tobacco are all products offered to travelers and their companions.
Warning: remember that the bottles bought in Duty Free and loaded in the cabin can be denied boarding during a possible stopover in the Schengen area.

Post office

To send letters, postcards and parcels and for purchases of stamps, the post office of Douala international airport is open from 7:30AM to 4:30PM (on weekends only during the afternoon).

Security officers also ensure compliance with international standards. You can call them to report any suspicious activity. Luggage scales

Each airline flying to Cameroon impose a different baggage allowance. It is important that every traveler comply with those rules under threat of being required to pay excess baggage fees that can be prohibitive. It is therefore recommended to weigh your luggage before you get to the airport. However, it is possible to weigh them on the balances available at check-in counters in order to lighten them if necessary.

Cabin baggage

Each company has its own baggage policy. Most of the time, luggage weighing more than 32kg is forbidden. In addition, the maximum size of luggage should not exceed 158cm (height + width + length). Any off-size baggage may incur additional charges or be refused by the company.
Like baggage traveling in the hold, cabin baggage must be of a maximum size and weight. Some passengers try to board other items than those validated at check-in. They expose themselves to the refusal of embarkation of these baggage or to the payment of excess baggage fees in addition to delaying the takeoff to the detriment of all the travelers.

Last minute tickets

Passengers who have not had the time to buy their tickets or have missed their flights have the option to purchase a ticket at the airport (at generally higher rates). Correspondents of different airlines can offer these services.

In case of loss, theft or damage related to baggage carried by travelers, you must go on arrival at the baggage claim counter located after the baggage carousel.
